Tristan's work focuses primarily on biodiversity, ecosystem services and resilience their role in poverty reduction. In particular he examins ecosystem-based solutions for climate change and sustainable development. This includes tracking and contributing to international policy related processed such as UNFCCC, CBD, IPBES, SDGs and others.
His role also includes facilitating work with key partners and furthering capacity development, such as through the use of multi-actor dialogue workshops.
He has an M.Sc. in Conservation Biology from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent, UK and a B.A. (Mod.) in Environmental Science from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland.
Tristan is also a member of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM) and the Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy (CEESP).
