Daniele has multiple roles at SwedBio: assisting with administration, managing some of the contributions within the collaborative programme, as well as taking care of website and communications. He is also increasingly engaged in international policy processes related to food and agriculture, such as the Committee on World Food Security and the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. He also at times contributes to wider SRC activities, with a focus on practice and policy processes.
Daniele holds an MSc in Sustainability from the Stockholm Resilience Centre’s Social-Ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development programme at Stockholm University, and a BSc in Natural Sciences from Milan University. In his Master thesis he explored scenarios of future land change in Central and Eastern Africa, under the supervision of Line Gordon.
During and after his studies, Daniele participated in multiple research, practice and policy projects dealing with ecology, nature conservation, ecotourism, poverty alleviation, education, and intercultural communication. He collaborated with organizations ranging from small NGOs to UN agencies in several countries, including Hong Kong, Italy, Kenya, UK, Seychelles and Sweden. Fluent in English and Italian, Daniele is an advanced Swedish and intermediate Spanish speaker.
