This entails ecological surveys that enable planners to assess public health risks associated with mosquitos, birds, and rodents, but also the potential benefits of enhancing native vegetation. Additionally, Josh works with network partners in the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities program to deepen knowledge exchanges around urban ecology in partner cities.

Josh has a background in geography and urban forestry. He completed his doctoral studies at Stockholm University in 2015. Since 2008, he has held various research posts at Tulane University, where he is currently Research Assistant Professor at the ByWater Institute.
