Prof. Viola on United States, Brazil and Argentina in the Climate Change Regime

Prof. Eduardo Viola will on November 15, 2000, hold the seminar "United States, Brazil and Argentina in the Climate Change Regime".

Professor Viola will first address the Politics of Carbon Emissions in the domestic arena in the United States, Brazil and Argentina, in a comparative way. Professor Viola will then discuss the evolution of the position of the three countries in the climate change regime and their mutual relationships.

Finally, future perspectives for the role of the three countries in the climate regime will be discussed.

About Professor Eduardo Viola
Prof. Eduardo Viola works at Department of International Relations and Center for Sustainable Development at the University of Brasilia.

Professor Eduardo Viola, born in Argentina and a Brazilian citizen since 1990, receieved his Doctorate in Political Science in 1982 at the University of Sao Paulo.

He is currently professor at the Department of International Relations and Center for Sustainable Development at the University of Brasilia, and visiting professor at the following universities: Stanford, Notre Dame, Colorado at Boulder, and Amsterdam.

He has been published extensively on the issues of environmental policy and politics in Brazil, international environmental politics and globalization and governance. Professor Viola is a Member of the Committee on Global Environmental Change, Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
