Dr. John Milne on Grasslands of the UK

Dr. Johan Milne will on November 29, 2000, hold the seminar "Natural Heritage Issues for the Semi-Natural Grasslands of the UK".

The diversity of semi-natural grassland will be described and the threats to their existence and natural heritage value will be considered.

The challenges for research and how these are being and should be addressed will be described with particular reference to grazing management. The appropriateness of the policy instruments being used will be discussed.

About Dr. John Milne
Dr. John Milne is Deputy Director of the Macaualy Land Use Research Institute

Dr Milne's research has focussed on plant/herbivore interactions and the application of this research to developing policy and practical solutions.

In addition to being Deputy Director of the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, he is President-elect of the British Society of Animal Science, Deputy Editor of Grass and Forage Science and Vice-Chairman of the Deer Commission of Scotland.
